Chile is rapidly advancing in digitalization, emerging as a leader in technological adoption in Latin America. The eighth edition of the IMD World Digital Competitiveness Ranking places it third in the Americas, surpassed only by the United States and Canada. This recognition underscores Chile’s remarkable ability to integrate emerging technologies across various sectors, thereby driving innovation, enhancing productivity, and fostering economic growth.
The legal services sector has not lagged behind; it has also embraced cutting-edge technologies to transform how legal professionals work, interact with clients, and manage cases, increasing efficiency and transparency. One of the frontrunners in this revolution is BRANDLEX, a Chilean Legal-Tech company founded in 2023 with a clear and ambitious mission: to transform access to legal services through the use of advanced technologies and artificial intelligence.
Aware that for many companies and individuals, accessing legal services on a permanent basis is a complex and costly task, yet simultaneously necessary in daily life, BRANDLEX began by developing a series of legal assistant prototypes for specific legal topics—initially allowing only a single question and answer without the possibility of continuous interaction. This has evolved into a comprehensive solution developed in collaboration with the technology partner GOVms (Microsoft Solution designation in Data & AI and specialized in Analytics on Microsoft Azure), redefining how companies access legal advice.
Eduardo Avendaño, Co-founder and Commercial Manager of GOVms, emphasizes: “These types of solutions always present a challenge in their design and implementation since clients desire a mature and specialized assistant. Today, our experience in Chile and Latin America has led us to integrate, optimize, and innovate to build, together with our clients, a comprehensive, reliable, and secure solution. The invitation is open to participate in the benefits, programs, and technologies of Microsoft, with which we can together achieve beneficial and high-value relationships.”

After developing several solutions, the company received a boost as part of the Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub program, enabling them to build a robust technological infrastructure on the Azure cloud, meeting the highest standards of privacy, security, and data confidentiality. In August 2024, this process culminated in the launch of BRANDLEX.AI, a tool that transforms the delivery of legal services, developed with Microsoft Azure, generative artificial intelligence, and conversational AI, to offer real-time legal information and advice, making the dream of many startups, foreign and local companies, of having a virtual lawyer as part of their teams a reality.
The platform provides a virtual legal assistant available 24/7, offering teams real-time solutions to everyday legal issues, overcoming traditional response time limitations. In this way, companies not only have quality and precise legal advice at a lower cost than conventional methods but can also anticipate legal risks and issues, such as compliance matters, before they arise.

The tool features multilingual capabilities that eliminate language barriers, providing interactions in the user’s native language, always based on up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws. Additionally, the responses reflect a high level of seniority, ensuring expert and specific advice in key areas such as unfair competition, company formation, economic crimes, free competition, counterfeiting, data privacy, and intellectual property, among others.
“At BrandLex, we are convinced that the convergence between technology and law is key to democratizing access to quality legal services. Our vision is to transform how companies and individuals interact with legislation. What we seek is that, through immediate and precise solutions that strengthen real-time legal decision-making, teams can focus on more strategic tasks, driving the growth of their companies,” states Diego Acuña Domínguez, CEO and Co-Founder of BRANDLEX.
An Accessible Solution for All
Thanks to its integration with Microsoft Teams, BRANDLEX.AI allows users to interact easily with a virtual lawyer always available through their internal communication channels. The platform has access to the OpenAI GPT-4o model, ensuring high levels of verified response accuracy (exceeding 92% assertiveness). Moreover, its specialized legal data lake contains validated and organized data, guaranteeing the quality of the information from which it derives its responses.

One of its main strengths is the ability to update both the legal data lake and the OpenAI artificial intelligence engine, allowing the solution to be scalable and evolve according to market needs and the inherent evolution of these cutting-edge technologies.
Thanks to all these features, BRANDLEX.AI has established itself as a versatile solution that meets the needs of a broad spectrum of users. In the corporate sector, for example, the platform serves large Chilean companies, multilatinas, and multinational corporations, providing comprehensive legal support for their operations and in-house legal teams. Meanwhile, law firms, both Chilean and foreign, find in this solution an ally to enhance their services, while medium-sized companies in the process of internationalization or soft landing obtain the necessary support to navigate complex legal frameworks.
Indeed, BRANDLEX.AI is redefining the present of the legal sector and laying the foundations for its future. Its scalable and adaptable model allows for continuous evolution of the platform, ensuring that both large corporations and emerging companies can access high-quality legal services efficiently and immediately. The combination of advanced technology with legal expertise represents a new era in the delivery of legal services, where innovation and accessibility are the norm.
“BrandLex.AI demonstrates how artificial intelligence and the Azure cloud can revolutionize the delivery of professional services, offering precise and accessible solutions in real-time. We believe that technology is a powerful tool to democratize access to justice and improve efficiency in legal management, and BRANDLEX.AI is showing that path,” says Wilson Pais, director of Cloud & AI Ecosystems at Microsoft Latin America.
